An ode to the art-deco skyline

Manhattan takes its cue from the great art-deco skyscrapers of New York, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and the glamour and optimism they came to represent. Their sleek verticals and stepped forms are distilled into the lamp's slender, symmetrical body, refined vertical ornamentation rising from a stepped base. It is a small tribute to an era, and to the confident, linear language of a city.

The body is milled from solid forged brass on a CNC lathe, then polished to a radiant shine and sealed with a protective lacquer. Unlike a living finish that mellows over time, the lacquer preserves Manhattan's rich golden tone and lustrous surface, so it keeps its shine for years. Paired with marble, timber or linen, that warm brass brings quiet refinement to a table.

Manhattan is finished with your choice of five interchangeable shades: a classic cotton, a pleated silk, or hand-blown glass in amber, frosted or green. Each casts the light a little differently, a direct downlight onto the table with a soft diffused sidelight around it, so a single lamp can suit a fine dining room, a bar or an alfresco terrace simply by changing its shade.

Your Manhattan is made to move, which is exactly why operators asked us to help them keep it close. The Cordless Lamp Lock secures it to the table itself. A low-profile plate fixes discreetly to the surface, the lamp locks on with a single press, and a dedicated key releases it. No tools, no brackets, and nothing a guest would ever notice.

It lets you place cordless light where you could not before. Outdoor terraces, bar tops and street-facing tables can carry your Manhattan with the confidence it will still be there tomorrow. The Cordless Lamp Lock is made from 75% post-consumer recycled polycarbonate.

What shade options does Manhattan come with?

Manhattan offers five interchangeable shades: a cotton shade, a pleated silk shade, and hand-blown glass shades in amber, frosted or green. Shades can be bought separately as well, so the same lamp can change character over time.

Can Manhattan be used outdoors?

With a glass shade, Manhattan is rated IP52 and suits sheltered outdoor settings such as covered terraces. With a fabric shade (cotton or pleated silk) it is rated IP30 and intended for indoor use. Neither is designed for full exposure to rain.

Will the brass finish tarnish or change colour over time?

No. Manhattan's brass is polished and then sealed with a protective lacquer, which preserves its golden tone and shine. Unlike an aged or living brass finish, it is not intended to patina, so it keeps its lustrous appearance with only occasional light dusting.

What LED colour options does Manhattan offer?

Manhattan comes with a warm white LED at 2600K as standard, with an optional warm candle LED at 1800K for a softer, more amber light. Both are high-CRI (93+) and share the same runtime.

How long does Manhattan run, and how is it charged?

A full charge takes around 3.5 hours and gives up to 17.5 hours of light on the high setting, extending to around 55 hours on low. Brightness is set with a touch of the base across three levels. The lamp ships with an N1 Charging Base, which includes AU, UK, EU and USA wall plugs.

Is Manhattan serviceable and compatible with NEOZ charging and security systems?

Yes. Every major part is user replaceable, including the battery, light source and shade, and NEOZ offers repairs and servicing. Every N1 lamp works with all NEOZ charging systems, from the single N1 Charging Base up to the 48-lamp trolley. Manhattan is also compatible with the Cordless Lamp Lock, which applies to N1 lamps whose serial number begins with L, for example LA1234.
